While last Summer 75% of Finnish SMEs were optimistic about the economic outlook, this Spring that number is down to 50%, while 28% expect the economic climate to worsen. In this, they are less optimistic than Denmark and Norway but more upbeat than Sweden and the UK. Even though sentiment on the economic climate is weaker, six in ten (58%) of Finnish SMEs expect their turnover to increase in the next 12 months, while 49% forecast improved profits.
The second wave of the Azets Barometer was carried out in January 2022 with 1,093 SMEs participating across the geographies in which Azets operate: Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the UK. It follows the first wave of the Azets Barometer conducted in April and May 2021.
